Sprouts are transitioning from the Toddler Stage to the Preschool Stage. Potty training is given more attention and must be accomplished before moving upstairs to the Preschool Room.
At this age the children demonstrate more self-help skills and a growing need for independence. The daily routine includes circle time, hands-on activities, and the beginning of social interaction and cooperation among peers. These goals are accomplished by the use of art, music and movement, fine and gross motor activities, and imaginative play. Daily reports of activities and routines are made by the teachers. Communication between parent and teachers is essential.
